Boutique bakery La Patisserie Des Reves have opened their first London store in swanky Marylebone.
Created by acclaimed chef and pâtissier Philippe Conticini his award winning pastries and gateaux’s are works of modern food art. French classics such as Tarte Tartin, mille-feuille, eclairs and Tarte Au Citron are geniusly displayed under large glass globes, an art installation like something out of the Tate modern.
Seasonal fruits inspire new dessert delights including blueberries, raspberries and rhubarb. All cakes, pastries and gateauxs are baked daily in West London and sold at their Marylebone store.
I took home a Paris- Brest – mini choux pastry buns linked together in a daisy shape, filled with rich light hazelnut praline cream and a thin layer of smooth creamy chocolate.
Think luxury profiterole fit for the Queen and you are half way there.
Even their pink cake box is chic and stylish like a little designer handbag too precious to open.
The store is an euphoric heaven and vision of desserts and art. Fresh contemporary gateauxs and cakes are a complete feast for the eyes, a Disneyland for baking enthusiasts and foodies.
