Terrazza on the Thames
British summertime has arrived and that can only mean one thing… Al Fresco dining! London Dockland’s Columbia Restaurant have launched a special Venetian-inspired popup serving a menu of Prosecco, Cicchetti (Italian tapas) and live music. Terrazza on the Thames overlooks the London lights with stunning waterside views you can easily escape the hustle and noise of the city and be transported to a world of Mediterranean culture.
Prosecco-based cocktails and wines from premium Italian wine specialist Bolla are a perfect way to start the evening. A signature drink Bolla Bellini is a must try! fresh fruit puree topped with crisp dry chilled prosecco was refreshingly divine.
The cicchetti and antipasti were bites of Venetian heaven. Italian imported produce of cured meats, cheese and olives teased diners as to what was to come. Starters of a trio of bruschetta topped with tomato and basil, truffle & wild mushroom and a lastly ricotta and almonds. Soft creamy arancini balls placed on a spicy fruity arrabiata dipping sauce and crisp fluffy polenta chips with a drizzle of salsa verde and garlic mascarpone dip certainly soaked up all that alcohol.
If those tapas treats was not enough Terrazza’s outdoor pizza oven will have you as giddy as a kid! rustic handmade to order pizzas with prosecco-marinated buffalo mozzarella, Parma ham, rucola and a spicy tomato sauce are some of the topping choices on offer.
Terrazza on the Thames is a charming terrace and one to be enjoyed on a summer’s day or my personal opinion by moonlight. It’s comfy plush booths, candlelight setting and inspiring Venetian menu is an escapism for any Londoner.
